Classical Models of Heavy-Ion Collisions

We have performed computer simulations of collisions between gold nuclei at Elab = 200, 400, and 600 MeV/A using classical molecular dynamics (MD).1 Two classical models giving nuclear matter with incompressibilities K = 283 and 546 MeV are used, to study the sensitivity of reaction observables to the equation of state. Central and off-center collisions are studied to simulate the impact parameter dependence.
