High Tc Thin Film Research at NRL
The potential importance of thin films of high temperature superconductors (HTS) has stimulated numerous approaches to thin film growth. At the Naval Research Lab, film growth of HTS is being studied by several methods: coevaporation1, flash evaporation2, chemical vapor deposition3, along with initial efforts at sputtering. In this paper I would like to summarize some of the work done by the first two efforts.
