Tissue Engineering requires for its implementation cross-disciplinary efforts between diverse groups of bioengineers, Biological scientists, and medical researchers. ISOTT has acted as an organized forum to bring these multidisciplinary forces together to develop dialogue regarding the structure, function, maintenance, repair, growth, and destruction of tissue under a variety of physiological and pathological conditions. The growing interest of other societies, academic institutions, the State and Federal governments and private industry has led to heightened awareness of Tissue Engineering.
