Abstract
My numerous visits to Urbana persistently followed an enchanting pattern which began with a hearty welcome and chauffeuring by Gregorio to his apartment where I stayed. In the evenings, after the ritual shopping at the local supermarket, where we carefully selected sirloin steaks, broccoli and other seasonal vegetables, each of us turned to his expertise in the preparation of supper. In contrast to the meticulously prepared dinner, we consumed the food somewhat detached from each other without much talking. A long night of spontaneous intellectual encounter was awaiting us, it seemed as if we were preparing ourselves.
