Time-Resolved Fluorescence Studies on Horse Spleen Ferritin
The horse spleen apoferritin polymer (M=450,000) is characterized by an intrinsic fluorescence emission at 315 nm when excited at 280 nm. The emission maximum is shifted at 325 nm upon dissociation of the polymer into subunits. We have studied the decay of fluorescence of the apoferritin polymer and its subunits.
