Abstract

The pathophysiological mechanism of diabetic microangiopathy is based on experimental and clinical evidence. The complex sequence of events which determine the vascular lesion is not entirely elucidated. Some of the mechanisms involved, both quantitatively and qualitatively in the alteration process have been demonstrated.
