As organizer of the Japanese DNA project, I would like to offer my view on the practicability of and the necessity for establishing a large scale DNA-base-sequencing system. Emphasis is specially placed on the importance of establishing “Super DNA-Sequencing Centers” on an international scale in the United States, Europe, and Japan.
