Expression and Regulation of an Antigen Specific for Endothelium Involved in Human Lymphocyte Homing
Lymphocyte migration from blood to lymph is mediated by high endothelial venules (HEV), a specialized class of postcapillary venules characterized by plump or “high ” endothelial morphology (1,2,3). HEV are normally present in the paracortex of lymph nodes and mucosa associated lymphoid tissues, moreover vessels with HEV-like morphology can arise at sites of inflammation (4,5).
