Polymeric Foams

  • Raymond B. Seymour

Natural sponges (Phylum Porfera) are organless multicellular porous species which have been used for centuries as water absorbants, such as bath sponges. Wood and straw are also cellular materials and cork and balsa wood have also enjoyed a ready market because of their insulating properties and their high strength to weight ratio.
