The regulation of the immune response is a complex process that involves a number of different cells and their products. Recent investigations of both autoimmune disorders and MHC-linked diseases have highlighted the important role that T cells play in these diseases and, thus their role in the maintenance of a well-balanced immune response crucial to the health of an organism.
