Cellular Phospholipases A1 and Lysophospholipases of Mammals

  • Chapter
The Phospholipases

Part of the book series: Handbook of Lipid Research ((HLRE,volume 5))

Abstract

Here we begin a series of three chapters devoted to vertebrate phospholipases of cellular origin. The extracellular, pancreatic phospholipase A2 is not included; rather, it is covered with the venom phospholipases with similar nature and function. The functions of the cellular phospholipases in a few instances are given in these three chapters but the major description of the functions of these phospholipases is covered in Chapter 11.
