Regulation of Hypothalamic Somatostatin Secretion

Abstract

The secretion of somatostatin (SS) from nerve terminals of hypothalamic neurons can be measured in several different experimental models. Direct measurement of peptide release by radioimmunoassay is generally held to be the most reliable method.
