Regulation of Acetyl Coenzyme a Synthesis in Chloroplasts

Abstract

Photosynthetically active chloroplasts are able to synthesize acetyl-CoA either from acetate via acetyl-CoA synthetase (ACS) (1) or from pyruvate via the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDC) (2).
