Abstract

Neuropsychiatric diseases mainly affecting intracerebral mechanisms e.g. dementia, psychosis and movement disorders have in the last years been the objects of intense research in clinical cholinergic neuropharmacology. In contrast, studies devoted to spinal cholinergic mechanisms in man have been few and, if neurophysiological studies are excluded, corresponding investigations in human muscle tissue are sparse.
