Organization and Expression of the Vasopressin and Oxytocin Genes

Abstract

Vasopressin is known to control water resorption in the distal kidney tubuli, oxytocin milk ejection and the contraction of the uterus during birth. In addition the two hormones may modulate other processes in the body (de Wied, 1983).
