Potentialities of New Technologies

  • E. B. Budevski

Abstract

Exactly one year ago I attended a Workshop in Rolla, Missouri, organized by the National Science Foundation and the Bureau of Mines of the US Department of the Interior, devoted to the Research Needs in Electrochemistry for mineral and Primary Material processing. In the Workshop the present situation of Electrochemical Technologies were discussed, as well as what we can expect from electrochemistry for an improvement of these technologies. I feel that a discussion, based partially on some of the conclusions of this Workshop, would serve as a good introduction to the deliberations scheduled by the organizers of the Forum for this session.
