Enzyme Immunoassays Using Tagged Enzyme-Ligand Conjugates

We have developed an approach to separation enzyme immunoassays that uses a tag molecule linked to an enzyme-linked conjugate. This approach differs from most separation enzyme immunoassays in which the separation process usually depends upon the interaction between the ligand (or antigen) and antibody, one of which is immobilized on a solid material (Schuurs and van Weemen, 1977; Pal, 1978; Engvall and Pesce, 1978; Borrebaeck and Mattiasson, 1979; Ngo and Lenhoff, 1982).
