Abstract

Some methodological possibilities for the analysis of membrane proteins based on different types of antibody are described. Detergent immunoelectrophoresis (D-IE) is surveyed as a technique which works with polyspecific antibodies (Ab’s), and immunoblotting as one which functions with oligo- and mono-specific Ab’s. Finally, the application of monoclonal Ab’s in immunosorbent chromatography and ELISA techniques is shown.
