On the Influence of Irradiation on Thermal Conductivity of Polyethylene

  • P. Sukiennik

Measurements have been carried out on the influence of irradiation-induced crosslinks on the thermal conductivity of poly-ethylene under conditions of constant temperature during irradiation. On the basis of additional tests of thermal treating of the irradiated sample, including microcalorimetry, the author suggests that irradiation-produced crosslinks may influence the thermal conductivity of polyethylene only indirectly, by influencing the crystallinity.
