A Special Christmas
It was getting-ready time—the week before Christmas when our three families were preparing to gather at our home near the sea in order to celebrate Christmas together in our usual fashion. As the house was decorated, presents wrapped, and food cooked, mixed feelings occupied our hearts and minds. We knew there would be a grept deal of love. We hoped there would be some laughter and joy. We prayed there would be strength and courage, for this was to be my sister Bobby’s last Christmas. She had been told by her doctor on December 17 that the cancer she had suffered had spread to her lungs. She would probably have two to three more months to live.
