Abstract
Hematoporphyrin (Hp) and related compounds, in particular He-matoporphyrin Derivative (HpD), are increasingly used in tumor phototherapy. HpD was shown to differ respect to Hp for a higher percentage of non-fluorescent aggregated species when dissolved in aqueous solutions1. Moreover these species, which can be separated, for example, by gel filtration from HpD, have been shown to have a higher therapeutic activity2.
