The Psychosomatic Medicine in the Year 2000
The genius of Hippocrates, the father of medicine, has been analyzed by so many people that not much is left for me to emphasize. Hippocrates was not only a medical genius, he was one of those personalities who in their passage through the cosmos have shed a light that has shone through history. The great problem for science is to distinguish between the true and the falsely attributed work of Hippocrates. There have been people who have maintained that he never wrote anything at all like Socrates and Christ. Others attribute to him a quantity of works so great as only to be explicable as belonging to the whole Hippocratic school. There are some 160 titles of books of Hippocrates, and some 60 books survive.
