Psychosomatic Factors in Illness Absence from Work

  • Paul Cappon

Abstract

Over the past decade, increasing attention is being paid to stress and to psychosocial factors as key parameters in determining health at the workplace. This view is substantiated by study of any major periodical concerned with Occupational Health, such as the Journal of Occupational Medicine. The thread which unites these studies in a common perspective is the recognition that the physical and psychological components of health and illness are inextricably related.
