The Non-Working Patient in Therapy: A Confrontational Approach
The theme of this workshop is that the non-working patient must be returned to work. I believe that to conduct successful psychotherapy with such patients, we must confront them with the idea that their not working is unacceptable — to a large sector of their community and especially to us as members of the community. As therapists we must reject a role as participants in the welfare system.
