Advantages of Psychodynamic Theory for Psychiatric Diagnosis
The way one thinks determines to a great extent what one says — the reverse is also true. The language one is acquainted with governs one’s thinking. The traditional standard nomenclature with its old-fashioned and static structure of symptom and syndrome labels constitutes a language that is a hindrance in forming a diagnosis that could be of help for adequate treatment of the patient.
