Abstract

The parallel between phylogenesis and orthogenesis is confirmed in the stages of development of human thought. In both the history of peoples and the background of the individual we always and necessarily find a continuous succession of primitive phases and evolved phases, continuums of magical and scientific thinking, of infantile elements intermixed with adult ones.
