Abstract

The number of cases of menstrual cycle showing alteration with regard to the nature of the symptoms and intensity, seems to be on a steady increase. The origin of menstrual pathology cannot be attributed to organic causes only. It seems to be related to complex psychological problems and to the women’s psycho-social interaction with the environment (Kelly, 1954; Benedek, 1969; Andreoli, 1976; De Senarclens and Fischer, 1977).
