The Identification of Amitriptyline and Benzodiazepine Metabolites

HPLC peaks in an assay developed for amitriptyline and its metabolites were of unclear identity, elucidated by certain approaches. The accuracy of a semi-quantitative EMIT procedure for benzodiazepines was validated. Determining the contribution of metabolites to a drug assay poses problems to a clinically oriented laboratory, as these studies illustrate.
