Mechanisms Controlling Differentiation and Function of Antigen-Presenting Macrophages
Mechanisms controlling the differentiation and function of antigen-presenting macrophages were studied using two distinct approaches. One asked either what are the genetic determinants and their gene-products which have to be expressed on antigen-presenting cells in order to enable macrophages to present antigen to lymphocytes, or alternatively what are the exo-cellular signals which induce the expression of these functional gene products.
