Closing Remarks

  • H. Fischmeister

How does one sum up the Conference? I came here with about ten research ideas that have sprung from the work I pur into preparing my opening lecture. I’m leaving with about thirty. Part of the list is this, and I’m not going to discuss this in detail I just want to highlight some points. I think we need models. Models as opposed to descriptions. If a model is good, it is predictive. If a model is bad, it’s almost as good because then it is provocative. We need more insight into the time-load spectrum of our tools. There was one paper at this Conference that went into that. I think we need more of that type of work.
