Approaches to Prevention in Medical Education

Abstract

In recent years there has been a rapid growth of interest in and knowledge about impaired physicians, and about the emotional, professional, and financial expenses they incur. Increasingly, as these costs have become dearer, attention has turned to preventive as well as to therapeutic programs. This chapter focuses on preventive measures used in educational settings, in medical schools and in a continuing medical education course.
