Concluding Remarks on the Symposium

  • Ernest Yeager

The speakers with expertise in the various industrial electrochemical areas represented in the Symposium have been generally quite optimistic concerning new technical innovations as well as further growth of these industries. For the remainder of the century, applied electrochemistry can be expected to have increasing importance relative to industry as a whole. The factors responsible were cited in the opening remarks—the energy problem, the raw materials problem, the environment problem.
