The Bilingual’s Linguistic Repertoire
Recent research on bilingualism,1 especially during the last two decades, has significantly contributed to our understanding of two rather neglected areas of this topic: the neurolinguistic study of a bilingual’s brain (Paradis 1979), and formal and functional analyses of the linguistic (or verbal) repertoire of a speaker of a language (Kachru 1981; Wald 1974).
