The Analysis of Inorganic Constituents in the Groundwater at an Underground Coal Gasification Site
A primary environmental consequence of underground coal gasification may be degradation of groundwater quality. This report presents the sampling, analytical and computational techniques used to study the inorganic constituents in the groundwater following the Hoe Creek II field study conducted in the fall, 1977. The physical and chemical processes controlling the observed concentrations are discussed with the aid of graphic displays of the analytical data and with the use of a chemical equilibrium modeling program.
