Why a Course on the “inversion” of geophysical data? To my knowledge, this is the first time that this approach has been discussed among specialists in different geophysical methods. Nowadays, geophysical exploration covers a very broad field, and sometimes the work done by the specialists of one technique is almost unknown to those dealing with other methods. This is particularly true if we consider the objectives of our science (e.g., prospecting for oil or for water, mining, engineering).
