Exotic Nuclei

These lectures deal with nuclei with abnormally large or small neutron-to-proton ratios. In comparison with many other activities in nuclear physics, this is a relatively small field but at the same time one that has links to many of the traditional specialities in nuclear-structure physics. In these lectures I shall given some examples of recent results in the study of exotic nuclei. A somewhat broader picture of the many activities in this area can be obtained from the proceedings of specialized conferences1,2 and from reviews3–5.
