Abstract

A mammographic picture is a plain picture in gray scale made up from the various geometric projection of the volume of mammary elements which has a heterogenous structure. It has to be considered according to the three-dimensional anatomic/histologic structure to obtain the best information. This plain image hardly allows the radiologist to imagine the elementary shape of structures behind pathological opacities and transparencies.
