A Diffusion Model for 1/f Noise for Samples of Finite Dimensions

Abstract

Noise generated by fluctuations of a parameter which is subject to a diffusion equation is shown to have a 1/f power spectrum over a wide range of frequencies, provided that the thickness of the sample is small compared to its other dimensions.
