Abstract
It is argued that neither the phonon assisted emission nor the phonon assisted absorption in AgBr:I can be explained using a configuration coordinate model. The reason is believed to be the charge distribution of the electron which differs strongly between ground and excited state. For the absorption process a different model is proposed.
