Abstract
The temperature dependence of the amplitudes of the 3rd band electron doppleron and Gantmakher-Kaner surface impedance oscillations has been measured in cadmium between 1.2 and 4.2 K in a magnetic field directed normal to the sample surface and along the <0001> direction. The temperature dependencies of these oscillations show deviations from a simple T5 law, and we interpret them in terms of intersheet electron-phonon scattering. The magnetic field dependence of the scattering frequency is due to a shift of the belt of resonant electrons from near the rim of the lenticular 3rd band Fermi surface sheet towards the <0001> limiting point as the field is increased. The value of the scattering frequency is in good agreement with previous measurements (at 4 K).
