Evidence for Electron-Electron Scattering in Copper and Silver from Radio Freouency Size Effect Measurements

Abstract

New high precision RFSE measurements down to 0.5 K on thick Cu and Ag samples reveal deviations from the usual T3 temperature dependence due to electron-phonon scattering. If the observed less rapid temperature dependence is associated with a T2 contribution to the scattering frequency, then the coefficient of this term is of the order of magnitude predicted by Lawrence for electron-electron scattering in Cu and Ag.
