Long Wavelength Optical Lattice Vibrations and Structural Phase Transition in Mixed a-In2s3-xSex Crystals
The FIR and Raman measurements of lattice vibrations in a-In2S3-xSex mixed crystals are reported. For 0 < x < 2.5 the crystals have a cubic defect spinel structure and one mode behavior is evident. For x > 2.5 the a-In2Se3 hexagonal phase appears and the crystals exhibit a mixed one- and two mode behavior. This abrupt change in the optical spectrum evidence a structural phase transition occurring for a concentration near x ~ 2.5.
