Concept Structure and its Distortion in the Communication and Formation Process of Morality Concept
This paper studies the concept structure and its distortion phases in the communication and formation process of an aimed concept of morality teaching material used in elementary schools of Japan from viewpoints of Instructional Engineering and Fuzzy Set Theory application.
A proposed model for the concept structure and its distortion incorporates two cases of the distortion of the concept structure; Case I: communicative distortion from one person to another person, and Case II: formative distortion within a person. In addition, any distortion of concept structure can be generated by two basic changes: (a) strength change, and (b) additional change.
Our proposed model is verified through experimental studies, where a concept test and a core sentence test are newly designed and practiced cross-sectionally with various subjects on various morality materials at pretest and posttest. The experimental results reveal interesting examples of fuzzy phases of: (1) communicative and formative distortions of concept structure, (2) core sentence structure for morality concept, and (3) morality environment of surrounding pupils.
