Influence of Wall Slip in Extrusion

It is known that some polymer melts like rigid PVC1, 2 show wall slipping properties. Although it may be immediately concluded that it leads to different velocity profiles, there is little information available on the influence of wall slip on processing in extrusion and quality of the end product.
