Effect of Variable Molecular Orientations on Stress-Crazing in Moulded Amorphous Polymers

Abstract

Initiation and propagation of crazes in injection moulded transparent polystyrene subjected to uniaxial tensile load at room temperature were investigated by means of conventional and high frequency cinematography. Different strain rates between 10−7s−1 and 101 s−1 were used.
