Measurement of the First Normal Stress Coefficient of Polymer Melts in a Circumferential Flow Through an Annulus by Means of a Pressure Difference Transducer

In a special class of flow, the steady shear flow, the following equations describe the components of the extra-stress tensor Open image in new window : The viscosity ∿, the first normal stress coefficient ψ1, and the second normal stress coefficient ψ2 are three material constants. The values of these constants depend on the shear rate and the temperature.
