Abstract

We present here an outline and summary of a workshop sponsored by the National Science Foundation and held at the Boyce Thompson Institute at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, entitled “Genetic engineering as an approach to the study of salt tolerance in microorganisms.” The workshop was organized by Dr. Aladar A. Szalay in cooperation with Dr. R. E. MacDonald, Cornell University, and Dr. Janos Lanyi, Ames Research Center.
