The Community Treatment Foundation (CTF) is a not-for-profit Corporation established in 1973. Prior to the establishment of CTF, the organization operated under the aegis of Rockefeller University where it was referred to as the Methadone Information Center at Rockefeller University. The continuity of the Information Center was maintained as one division of the Foundation. Its central task is the registry and clearance of all methadone patients in New York State. The collection of certain identifying data for the purpose of admission screening and retention of this data for both active and inactive individuals has placed the organization in a unique position. We presently have data elements on approximately 85,000 distinct individuals of whom some 33,000 are presently in active treatment.
