The number of instruments which can simultaneously receive radiation is given by the ratio between the beam cross section and the size of the optical elements (mirrors, monochromators). The beam has a horizontal width of 25cm. As the vertical divergence of X-ray synchrotron radiation is about 0.4 milliradian, the vertical width of the beam at the entrance of the hall is about 1.0cm.
