Preliminary Tests of Suggestibility
Suggestion may be defined as the presentation of an idea in nonlogical fashion in such a manner that it is likely to be accepted as literally true, and therefore “real”—as illustrated in everyday life by the parent who kisses a child’s scraped knee to “make it stop hurting,” or by the athletic coach who convinces his apprehensive team that they “can’t lose.”
